Class Description

Fire play is one of kink’s most intense and electrifying edge-play practices, combining heat, fear, trust, and focus in a way few other activities can. This class is an introduction for kink-aware adults who are curious about fire play, whether they’ve only seen it from across the room or are wondering if it might someday belong in their own scenes. No prior experience with fire play is required; just a willingness to learn and respect the risks involved.

The workshop is structured in three parts. We begin with Safety, covering the realities of working with open flame: fuels, fire behavior, environmental setup, emergency planning, and what responsible risk management actually looks like in practice. From there, we move into Psychology, exploring why fire play works: how anticipation, fear, power exchange, and altered headspaces show up for both tops and bottoms, and how consent and communication shift when real risk is present. The class concludes with a live demonstration, tying these ideas together through technique, pacing, verbal check-ins, and aftercare.

This class is especially suited to newer kinksters who want solid information before experimenting, as well as those who want a clearer framework for deciding whether fire play is right for them at all. Fire play doesn’t come with certifications or shortcuts; only learning, practice, and responsibility. Attendees will leave with a realistic understanding of what fire play involves, what it demands, and how to approach it with intention, respect, and care.

Fire enthusiasts have the option after class to experience a small bit of fire, and Tipsy Raven will be supplying Fire play kits and implements in case you want to take the the kink home with you.

Presenter Bio

Tipsy Raven is a long standing practitioner of fire play whose relationship with flame began in his early 20s and has remained a constant anchor through an evolving kink identity. His approach centers on creating deeply immersive, sensual experiences that guide bottoms into a controlled and intentional subspace drop, while still leaving room for carefully placed moments of sadism where they enhance the dynamic. Known for crafting all of his own fire play equipment, each piece is purpose built and tailored to the individual experience, emphasizing both safety and precision. Outside of fire, Tipsy’s practice is rooted in rope, high protocol D/s, impact, and sharps play, bringing a structured, intentional, and highly attentive energy to every scene. His teaching reflects this same philosophy focused, experience-driven, and grounded in both technical skill and the nuanced emotional landscape that fire uniquely creates.
